PARIS ON – Tigercat displayed harvesting and biomass systems as well as a skidder and forwarder based scarifiers at Elmia Wood, the world's largest forestry equipment exhibition. The show saw over 46,000 unique visitors pass through the gates during the four day affair held June 3-6 near Jönköping, Sweden.

The Tigercat stand featured its narrow, compact eight-wheel drive H09 harvester, popular throughout Sweden for ghost trail thinning applications. The big head turner for anyone one who walked past the Tigercat stand was the 1075B forwarder with extended bunks carrying a load no other forwarder in the industry is capable of. The 20-tonne rated wide spread bogie axles, a massive centre joint, the new cab and the latest user friendly MD3 control display puts the Tigercat 1075B in a class of its own for the toughest, highest production forwarding applications. Tigercat also demonstrated a 1055B 14-tonne forwarder which was put through its paces over the four days.

Elmia Wood had a decidedly strong biomass flavour and Tigercat contributed with an additional 1055B forwarder equipped with a Bruks mobile chipper mounted to its wagon frame.

While Elmia Wood is primarily focused on harvesting, there was also an emphasis on mechanized site preparation and planting. The Tigercat 635D with the revolutionary Turnaround seat has gained favour in Swedish scarifying applications as a rugged, low cost carrier compared with a traditional forwarder. Various types of site preparation implements can be mounted onto the six-wheel drive hydrostatically driven carrier to allow for cost effective site preparation. Tigercat also put a 1075 forwarder with a large four row Bracke scarifier on the Bracke stand.

In a cut to length market that uses rubber tired harvesters and forwarders exclusively, Tigercat attracted much attention with the LH845C track-based leveling harvester. While this machine is not of relevance to the Swedish market, strong interest was shown by customers from Germany, Russia, Norway and the UK where the negotiation of steep slopes is an everyday event.
